BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lynn University men's lacrosse team claimed its first win in 2025 Sunshine State Conference play when it defeated Rollins 14-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Blue and White featured a balanced attack, headlined by a combined 10 goals from seniors
Tyler Van Wart (five goals),
Connor Houston (three goals), and
Brian Hoskins (two goals).

Prior to gametime, Lynn honored its senior class which featured 15 Fighting Knight graduates. The class included

Following the big win on senior day, Lynn improved to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rollins struck first, scoring a goal within the first two minutes of the opening period to take an early lead

Mitch Rini found Van Wart downfield as the senior got home to tie the contest up at 1-1
- Just a few minutes later, Hoskins struck on a goal from Houston to give Lynn its first lead of the day, 2-1
- Van Wart tallied his second goal of the first quarter on a put-back shot to propel the Fighting Knights' lead out to three, 3-1
- The Tars answered back with a goal in the closing minutes of the frame to cut Lynn's lead to one, 3-2
- Rollins opened the second period with a man-up goal to knot the game up at 3-3
- Rini broke the tie just a few moments later on a quick strike before a goal from Van Wart put Lynn up by two once again, 5-3
- With five minutes until halftime, Rollins responded with a fast-paced goal before Hoskins knocked in his second goal of the afternoon on an assist from McKinley, 6-4
- Out of the halftime break, Lynn came out firing on all cylinders, doubling their lead with timely goals from Houston and
Riley Knox
- Rollins quickly struck back with a goal before the Blue and White overpowered the Tars with goals from Houston, McKinley and Van Wart, 11-5
- Van Wart picked up his fifth goal of the day on an assist from Cutter to open the final quarter of play, 12-7
- The Tars attempted to get something going late in the fourth with back-to-back goals, 12-7
- The Fighting Knights cancelled out the Tars' final two goals with a couple of goals of their own, courtesy of Houston and
Cale Maguire, 14-7

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Van Wart's five goals mark a career-high at Lynn. The senior attacker also tallied an assist in the contest
- Houston's four-goal performance ties his previous season-high of three. He has two or more goals in three games so far in 2025
- Hoskins has tallied six goals over the previous two games. He currently has 10 goals on the year.
- Knox (junior) and Maguire (freshman) each picked up their first goals as Fighting Knights in the win
- Rini has tallied assists in each of his previous four starts, setting a career-high on Saturday with three

Hunter Klosterman picked up his fourth win at goalkeeper for the Fighting Knights, posting 12 saves in the contest.
