LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 3 Lynn fell late in its SSC Tournament semifinal at No. 2 Florida Southern on Thursday, 88-83. The back-and-forth contest featured 10 lead changes, with the Fighting Knights holding a lead with 90 second remaining. However, the Mocs ended the game on a 7-0 run to advance to the championship.

Leo Beath posted a double-double (31 points, 12 rebounds) and Carson Smith sunk five threes (27 points) to combine for 70% of Lynn's scoring on 54% shooting. The Fighting Knights are now 20-8 overall as they look to be selected to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights jumped out to a 10-2 lead with Beath scoring all of Lynn's points during the run
- JP Baron and Carson Smith hit consecutive three-pointers for a 22-14 score with 11:45 remaining in the first half
- Braydon Iuli scored four points during an 8-1 run as Lynn's lead expanded to 12, 35-23
- Beath's steal led to Sveinn Birgisson's three-pointer shortly after
- The Mocs closed the first half on a 7-0 run over the final 1:05 to cut Lynn's lead to one, 46-45, heading into the break
- Florida Southern started the first half with an 11-3 run to lead by seven
- Smith followed with a layup and pull-up jumper to cut the margin to three
- The Mocs led by 11, 66-55, with 11 minutes left in regulation
- The Fighting Knights charged back with a 14-2 run, led by nine Beath points, to regain the lead 69-68
- Smith hit a step-back three to tie the game at 72
- Beath grabbed a defensive board and went coast-to-coast for layup to give Lynn a two-point lead
- Beath's up and in pushed the score to 76-73 in favor of the Blue and White
- Osei Price was fouled grabbing a defensive board and hit both ends of a 1-and-1 to give Lynn an 80-78 lead with just over two minutes remaining
- Beath reached 33 points in the game with a driving layup for an 83-81 advantage
- FSC followed with a 7-0 run over the next 1:21 to secure an 88-83 win

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Beath reached 30+ points for the third time this season and recorded his ninth double-double
- Smith had 27 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals
- Price also added three steals and led the team in +/-
- The Fighting Knights tied a season high in turnovers (14) while committing their second-most fouls in a game (21)
- Lynn attempted 15 free throws while FSC tallied 31
- The Fighting Knights led for a majority of the game (21:49-14:39)
