No. 8 Fighting Knights win Lynn Invite by 10 strokes

BOCA RATON, Fla. – With a field consisting of six top 10 teams and all 14 participating schools ranked inside the top 30 in the nation, No. 8 Lynn University posted a dominant win as the host of the Lynn Invite at Boca Woods Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The Fighting Knights entered the final round with an eight-stroke lead and posted a score of 288, E on Tuesday to finish at 862, -2 – 10 strokes ahead of second-place Grand Valley State.

Lynn had three of the top six golfers of the tournament, as Amelia Ruiz Topali (-5, 2nd place), Lilly Dullinger (-2, T-4th) and Charlotte Brook (E, T-6th) all finished near the top of the leaderboard.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn led in Par 3 (3.02), Par 4 (4.13) and Par 5 (4.90) scoring for the tournament
- The Fighting Knights led the field in birdies with 43
- The Blue and White were two strokes back of Grand Valley State after the first round, but shot a 281 in round two take an eight-shot lead into the final round
- Ruiz shot rounds of 73, 68 and 70, including firing a 33 on the front nine of her second roundWGOLF - Lynn Invite
- She led the field in Par 5 scoring (-5) and was third in total birdies (12)
- Dullinger moved up three spots on the final day with scores of 76, 68 and 70 and shot a 33 on the back nine of her second round
- She was second in Par 3 scoring at -2
- Ruiz and Dullinger were second in Par 4 scoring at -1
- Brook posted scores of 70, 72 and 74 and had five birdies over her opening 18
- Dullinger and Brook each had 11 birdies
- Leelou Girault finished tied for 16th at 221, +5 (74, 73, 74)
- She led Lynn in total pars with 39
- Brook and Girault were tied for fifth in Par 3 scoring among a field of 78 golfers (-1)
- Emilia Koskinen was T-57th after rounds of 77, 78 and 78
- Nicole Yugay played as an individual and shot a +18 for T-63rd
- She was tied for second among all golfers in Par 5 scoring (-3)
- Ariel Gonzalez Arceo, also playing as an individual, was +32 for 76th place
- Dullinger, Brook and Yugay all birdied the 16th hole (Par 3, 135 yards) in the opening round while the rest of the team added pars
- Ruiz, Dullinger, Brook and Girault all birdied the 13th hole (Par 4, 348 yards) in round two
