MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Sunshine State Conference announced its All-Conference award winners for the 2025 SSC Track & Field Championship as Lynn garnered three awards. Freshman
Mira Akan led the way with two second team nods with impressive performances in the 100 meters and 400 hurdles. Meanwhile the 4x400 relay team consisting of Akan,
Emma Smith,
Tessa Bray and
Alijah Giustino took home second team honors.

Akan has been on a tear in her freshman season with the Fighting Knights, setting multiple school records in both sprints and hurdles. At the SSC Championship, Akan placed third in the 100 meters tying her previous school record-setting time of 12.24. She also took home third place in the 400 hurdles finishing in 1:05.59.
Akan also placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.82 for a new Fighting Knight record.

The team of Smith, Bray, Giustino and Akan combined for a time of 4:00.01 in the 4x400 for second place at the SSCs. This marks the second best finish the group has put together in 2025, previously putting together a 3:58.18 finish at the Embry-Riddle Elements for the Lynn school record.

Akan, the 4x400 team and the rest of the Fighting Knight track & field team are set to head to Jacksonville on May 2 for a meet at North Florida.
