Women’s tennis rolls past Palm Beach Atlantic

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The No. 31 Lynn University women's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over Palm Beach Atlantic, Monday afternoon. The Fighting Knights are now 9-6 overall and 5-2 in Sunshine State Conference play, holding a firm grip on the No. 4 spot in the SSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn kicked off the match with a perfect 3-0 sweep in doubles competition
- The Fighting Knights' top-rated tandem of Kristen Younes and Carla Galmiche secured the win in No. 1 doubles over Simona Karlsson and Alina Hoermann, 6-2
- The pair improved to 9-3 as a unit, strictly playing in the first flight
- Zofia Podbiol and Salma Djoubri locked down the second victory in doubles play out of the No. 2 spot, downing Virginia Borja and Anarella Brito, 6-3
- The duo is now 2-1 on the spring
- Mariya Vyshkina and Mia Garber completed the sweep with a 6-3 win over Elsa Brenner and Frida Alsterhem in the third flight
- This marks the first time the two have been paired up in 2025
- The Blue and White went on to secure four singles wins in the first, second, fifth and sixth flights
- Djoubri defeated Hoerman in No. 1 singles action, 6-0, 6-2
- The Fighting Knight junior is now 9-3 in top-ranked singles competition while riding a six-match winning streak
-Vyshkina picked up her eighth singles win of 2025, claiming a 6-0, 6-2 win in the second flight over Borja
- She is 8-3 on the season and 5-2 in No. 2 singles action
- Podbiol continued her stellar senior campaign with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court five over Brito
- She is a near perfect 8-1 in singles competition, with a 5-1 stretch in the fifth flight
- Garber closed the door on the Sailfish with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Valeria Pulgar Lopez in the sixth flight
- She picked up her second win of the season on Monday, marking her first in the sixth flight
