Men’s soccer tops SSC Preseason Coaches Poll

ORLANDO, Fla. – Coming off a storybook 2024 season capped with a National Championship, the Lynn men's soccer squad received first place votes from all other conference schools in the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Coaches Poll. The Blue and White swept all possible first-place votes from conference foes, racking up the maximum 100 points.

The Fighting Knights delivered an 8-0-2 record in conference play last year and finished the season unbeaten at 20-0-2. The program has made the NCAA Tournament 11 times since head coach John Rootes took the program over in 2008 with three titles (2012, 2014, 2024).

Florida Tech, Rollins, Tampa, and Nova Southeastern complete the top five in the preseason rankings, with the Sharks snagging the lone remaining first-place nod. Lynn was predicted to finish third in last years poll, but became the first program to win both the SSC regular season championship and conference tournament since 2019 (also Lynn).

The Fighting Knights' season begins in just over three weeks, starting with a home match against Tusculum on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6:00 pm under the lights of Bobby Campbell Stadium.
