ORLANDO, Fla. – Lynn University sophomore Emilia Koskinen has been named the Sunshine State Conference Golfer of the Week after a standout performance that propelled the Fighting Knights to a runner-up team finish at the NCAA DII South Regional Preview to open the 2025-26 season.
 
Koskinen was rock-solid across three rounds at the Cleveland Country Club, finishing fourth individually at +2 (74-70-74) in a 93-player field. Her second-round 70 (-2) tied for the best round of the day and featured an eagle and an impressive 32 on the back nine, vaulting her into contention for the tournament title. She entered Tuesday's final round just one shot off the lead before ultimately securing her top-five finish.
 
Her performance paced Lynn to an overall +28 total, good for second place out of 16 teams, just behind Wingate (+13). The Fighting Knights surged into first place after round two with an even-par effort and remained tied for the lead heading into the final day.
 
Koskinen's stellar play also helped Lynn dominate the statistical leaderboard: the Fighting Knights were the only team under par on Par 5s (-2), tied for the tournament lead in eagles (2), and ranked second in pars (160) and third in birdies (33).
 
With the fall season underway, Koskinen and the Fighting Knights will look to build on their strong start at the Eckerd Invitational which kicked off today and concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Pasadena Yacht & Country Club in St. Petersburg.
