Lynn women’s golf places seventh at Eckerd Invitational behind strong play from Ruiz Topali

GULFPORT, Fla. - Lynn women's golf earned a seventh-place finish out of 11 programs at the 2025 Eckerd Invitational in Gulfport, Fla., posting a +45 total across three rounds in a par-72 layout. Amelia Ruiz Topali led the Fighting Knights with a tie for seventh place individually at +5 (75–73–73), while four Lynn golfers placed inside the top 35 of the 70-player field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn opened with a +12 in the first round to sit mid-pack in the standings
- The Fighting Knights followed with a +16 in round two and a +17 final round to close at +45
- Ruiz Topali carded back-to-back 73s on the second day to climb into the top 10 and tie for seventh overall, just 12 shots back of the medalist
- Emilia Koskinen tied for 15th at +11 (76–76–75), notching five birdies in her performance
- Scarlet Weidig finished tied for 25th with a +14 total (74–78–78) in her second start of the season
- Vanessa Ramirez tied for 31st at +16 (76–77–79) after a steady first round 76
- Leelou Girault rounded out the Lynn lineup at +24 (75–78–87), finishing at 53rd
- Nicole Yugay competed as an individual for the Blue and White and tied for 51st at +23 (79–79–81)
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Ruiz Topali's +5 finish tied her for third among Sunshine State Conference players in the field
- Lynn was the only team under par on the par-5s, averaging 4.98 strokes and finishing at -1 for the tournament
- The Fighting Knights tied for fourth in total birdies with 32 over three rounds.
- Lynn finished fourth in total pars with 156.
- Ramirez (4.75 avg, -3) ranked second in Par 5s while Weidig (4.92 avg, -1) and Ruiz Topali (4.92, -1) tied for eighth
- Ruiz Topali also ranked ninth in par 4s (4.17 avg, +5) and sixth in pars (38)
