Four reach double figures in Lynn’s home loss to No. 3 NSU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn dropped its SSC matchup to No. 3 Nova Southeastern, 77-65, Saturday evening. The Fighting Knights led at halftime and had four players reach double figures in scoring, but the Sharks pulled away in the final 20 minutes. Sophomore forward John Roland recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Lynn falls to 10-7 overall and 5-5 in the SSC, while NSU improves to 13-1 and 8-1 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roland hit a 3-pointer for the first points of the game
- Lynn went on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a 3-pointer from the top of the key by Justin Bubak, to take a 10-4 lead
- Matthew Puodziukaitis' block led to a fastbreak layup by Max Polk
- Braydon Iuli created space with a spin move and finished at the rim to give Lynn a 20-14 advantage
- Puodziukaitis completed a traditional three-point play to make the margin five with eight minutes remaining in the first half
- The Fighting Knights led 28-21 after Polk knocked down a corner 3-pointer
- The Sharks used a 6-0 run to take a 32-31 lead, but two free throws by Iuli sent Lynn into halftime with a one-point edge
- NSU opened the second half on a 9-4 run to take a four-point lead
- Another Puodziukaitis three-point play brought Lynn within one, 44-43
- Nova Southeastern extended its lead to 10, 58-48, with nine minutes remaining
- Bubak found Roland inside to keep the margin at 10, 66-56, with 4:47 left
- Antoine Jacks' offensive rebound led to a second-chance layup by Roland, and Christian Maxon's steal set up another basket by Puodziukaitis, but the Sharks maintained a double-digit lead to secure the 77-65 final

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn shot 80% (8-of-10) from the free throw line, while NSU shot 60% (18-of-30)
- Fifteen of Lynn's 25 made field goals were assisted
- The Fighting Knights led for 20:09 of game time
- Roland is averaging 12.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game this season
- Iuli finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists
- Jacks recorded three steals for the fifth time this season
