ORLANDO, Fla. - Lynn University women's soccer freshman forward
Alex Rigg has been named to the 2026 All-Sunshine State Conference Third Team, as announced by the conference office Wednesday. The recognition comes following an impressive debut season in which Rigg led the Fighting Knights in goals, points and shots.
A native of Leeds, England, Rigg made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, finishing with a team-leading five goals, one assist and 11 points. The freshman appeared in all 16 matches, making 14 starts, while recording 39 shots, including 15 on goal.
Rigg delivered one of her most impressive performances on Sept. 9 against Southeastern (Fla.), scoring twice in Lynn's 5-0 victory, including the game-winning goal. She followed that performance with another strong showing against Edward Waters on Sept. 12, registering a goal and an assist in the Fighting Knights' 3-0 shutout victory.
The freshman continued her scoring success in Sunshine State Conference play, finding the back of the net against Florida Tech on Sept. 23. She capped her debut campaign with another goal in Lynn's regular-season finale at Flagler on Oct. 28, scoring in the 26th minute to give the Fighting Knights an early advantage.
Rigg also proved to be a consistent offensive threat throughout the season, recording a season-high five shots on two occasions, including against Palm Beach Atlantic on Oct. 21. She registered multiple shots in 10 matches and played a season-high 86 minutes against Nova Southeastern on Sept. 16.
Rigg was one of three forwards selected to the All-SSC Third Team, joining Saint Leo's Chloe Froese and Barry's Ida Mattsson.
The Fighting Knights concluded their 2026 campaign with a 4-10-2 overall record.
