Lynn men rally past St. Thomas, 4-3, in dramatic showdown

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's tennis team rallied past St. Thomas (Fla.), 4-3, on Thursday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex.

With the win, the Fighting Knights improve to 2-0 to start the 2026 campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- St. Thomas claimed the doubles point, winning two of the three flights 
- Filip Avdeev and Davide Cortimiglia secured Lynn's lone doubles victory at No. 1 with a 6-4 win over Ivan Menendez and Pablo Olmedo 
- Lynn responded in singles with four victories to secure the match 
- Aymen Alimoussa evened the score at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Pablo Olmedo 
- Louay Makke followed in the top flight, defeating William Rosencrantz, 6-3, 6-1 
- Santino Morel gave the Fighting Knights the lead at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Pierlugi Cruypemmimck 
- Cortimiglia clinched the match at No. 6 singles, battling past Jan Gewaltig, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 
- Lennart Ostheimer fell in a tight three-set match at No. 4 singles, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2

UP NEXT: 
- The Fighting Knights will travel to Lakeland to face No. 14 Florida Southern on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2:00 p.m.
