Fighting Knights battle against Embry-Riddle on Senior Day

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's basketball team came up short against Embry-Riddle, 106-83, on Saturday afternoon in Sunshine State Conference action. The team honored its seniors, Hannah Wentworth and Gina Adams prior to tipoff.
The Fighting Knights moved to 14-12 overall and 8-10 in SSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Blue and White got off to a tough start in the first quarter as Embry-Riddle shot 66.7 percent and built a 34-18 lead after 10 minutes
- Trinity Mocadlo scored Lynn's first points on a layup off a feed from Wentworth before knocking down a three-pointer at the 7:42 mark to give the Fighting Knights an early 7-6 lead
- The Eagles responded with a scoring surge, extending their advantage to double digits midway through the quarter
- Dianka Hardisson added a late three to keep Lynn within striking distance heading into the second
- Hardisson opened the second quarter scoring for Lynn with a strong finish inside
- Mocadlo drilled a three-pointer off an Eagles turnover to cut the deficit to 35-23 with 8:49 left in the half
- A key defensive sequence came when Emily Jean-Glaude recorded a steal, leading to an Angelina Deleon layup that trimmed the margin to single digits at 39-30
- Wentworth connected from beyond the arc with 3:27 remaining in the second quarter to keep momentum on Lynn's side
- Katie Tiffan scored inside off a pass from Hardisson, and Hardisson added a free throw late, but the Eagles carried a 54-38 lead into halftime
- The Fighting Knights showed resilience in the third quarter, scoring 22 points while shooting 57.1 percent from the field in the period
- Hardisson and Wentworth each hit from three, and Tiffan continued to produce in the paint
- Despite the offensive push, Embry-Riddle maintained control and entered the fourth quarter ahead 81-60
- Mocadlo opened the fourth with a layup, and Hardisson followed with back-to-back scores - a three-pointer assisted by Mocadlo and a pull-up jumper - cutting the deficit to 83-67
- Serena Baker finished a layup off a Wentworth assist at the 7:44 mark, and Mocadlo added a driving finish at 6:24 to bring the score to 90-71
- Lynn continued to compete down the stretch, closing with baskets from Mocadlo and Danigzy Mantilla before the final horn, 106 -83
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Mocadlo led the way with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting and added three assists
- Hardisson scored 15 points on a perfect 6-for-6 performance from the field, including 2-for-2 from three-point range
- Wentworth tallied 12 points and four assists in 36 minutes
- Deleon added 11 points and three assists
- Tiffan contributed 10 points and five rebounds
- Lynn shot 53.6 percent from the floor and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line
- The Blue and White also held a 25-20 advantage in bench points and scored 46 points in the paint
