MIRAMAR, Fla. - The Lynn University men's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the NSU Alumni Invitational, highlighted by a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay, multiple personal-best performances, and a podium result in the 3000m steeplechase. Freshman Evan Joseph led the way in the 400 meters with a fourth-place finish in the fastest section of the day, while Anthony Fontanez secured a top-three finish in the steeple, underscoring a well-rounded performance across sprints, hurdles, and distance events for the Fighting Knights.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
3000m Steeple
- Freshman Anthony Fontanez maintained his stride in distance events, placing third in the 3000m Steeple at 12:03.30
 
110m Hurdles
- Ethan Poitier set a PR in the 110m hurdles, finishing fourth at 16.50
 
400 Meters
- Lynn placed two runners inside the top eight overall, highlighted by freshman Evan Joseph (48.66) with a fourth-place finish and Justin Dewar (49.94) taking eighth, both competing in the fastest section of the event
- The Fighting Knights showcased strong depth across the field as Abraham Ater (51.25), Michail Michelin (51.82), Jayden Geathers (52.04), Dylan Michel (52.14), Julian Donaldson (52.43-PR), Poitier (52.84-PR), Jordan Klim (52.93-PR), Andre Nembhard (54.97-PR), and William Gonzalez (1:00.51-PR) rounded out Lynn's performances in the 400 meters
 
800 Meters
- Ari Powers paced the Fighting Knights with a 13th-place finish, crossing in 2:03.36 with a 1:00.93 opening lap
- Matthew Gusmano followed closely in 15th overall, clocking 2:03.73 with consistent splits of 1:00.92 and 1:02.82
- Roman Ruggiero placed 17th overall in 2:06.25, competing in Section 1
- Kyle Juliano rounded out Lynn's efforts with a time of 2:16.50
- As a group, Lynn placed two runners inside the top 15 overall and had three finish within the top 17, demonstrating solid middle-distance depth in the 800 meters
 
200 Meters
- Donaldson led the way for the Fighting Knights, clocking 22.29 to pace Lynn in the event
- Nembhard followed with a time of 22.93 (PR), continuing his strong sprint campaign
- Klim added a 23.07 (PR) performance, showing consistency in the short sprints
- Gonzalez rounded out the finishers for Lynn, crossing in 25.32
 
5000 Meters
- Lynn veteran Renzo Almeida delivered a steady performance in the 5000 meters, placing ninth overall with a time of 16:09.04 to lead the Fighting Knights in the distance event
 
4x400m Relay
- Lynn's A team of Geathers, Dewar, Joseph, and Michel turned in a strong performance with a third-place finish in 3:17.46, securing a podium spot in the 4x400 relay
- The B squad ( Poitier, Powers, Donaldson, Gusmano) followed with a 3:28.81 effort to place sixth overall
