MIRAMAR, Fla. - The Lynn University women's track and field team turned in a strong all-around performance at the NSU Alumni Invitational, highlighted by multiple personal bests, a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay, and impressive depth across the sprint and middle-distance events. The Fighting Knights placed four runners inside the top 10 in the 400 meters, three inside the top 10 in the 200 meters, and two inside the top seven in the 800, continuing to build momentum early in the outdoor season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1500 Meters

Jessica Lombardo competed in the 1500m for the first time this season, coming in fourth place at 4:52.62, just less than a second shy of a podium finish

100m Hurdles
- The Fighting Knights had three athletes compete in the 100 hurdles including
Abigail Brown (17.14 - personal best) in seventh,
Kalei McPherson (17.87) in eighth and
Laila Velasquez in ninth (20.03)

400 Meters
- Lynn placed four runners inside the top 10 overall, highlighted by
Alijah Giustino in sixth (1:00.34 - PR),
Mira Akan in seventh (1:00.62),
Tessa Bray in ninth (1:01.11), and
Angelina Howard in tenth (1:01.34)
- Lynn showcased additional depth throughout the field as
Tamryn Betts (1:01.34), Brown (1:03.04), Velasquez (1:04.61),
Zoey Hicks (1:06.03),
Zoey Bishop (1:10.47), and McPherson (1:17.07) rounded out a strong overall team effort in the 400 meters

Lindsey Byer led the way for Lynn, placing 5th overall with a time of 2:24.25, closing strong with a 1:13.12 final lap

Annabelle Daley captured 7th overall (1st in Section 1), crossing in 2:26.21 (
PR) with an opening split of 1:09.76

Rosemary Selke finished 10th overall in 2:31.99, clocking a 1:12.06 first lap

Mia Gagliardi followed closely in 12th overall with a time of 2:32.82

Elizabeth O'Brien rounded out the Lynn performances, finishing in 2:54.38
- As a group, the Fighting Knights placed two runners inside the top seven overall and had four finishes inside the top 12, showcasing solid depth in the 800 meters

- Bray led the way for Lynn with a 6th-place finish, clocking 26.03 while competing in the fastest section of the event
- Giustino followed closely behind in 7th overall with a time of 26.11, also racing in Section 3
- Howard added a top-10 performance, placing 10th overall in 26.68
- Bishop rounded out the Fighting Knights' efforts, crossing in 29.80
- As a group, Lynn placed three runners inside the top 10 overall, showcasing strong sprint depth in the 200 meters

4x400m Relay
- Lynn's A team of Giustino, Lombardo, Bray, and Betts placed third overall with a time of 4:06.00, competing in the fastest section of the event
- The B squad (Howard, Brown, Velasquez, Gagliardi) delivered a strong effort in 4:12.79 to finish seventh overall
- Lynn's C team of Hicks, Daley, Byer, and Selke crossed in 4:32.92 to round out the Fighting Knights' relay performances
