Lynn baseball claims third straight win with victory over Bentley

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University baseball team continued its early-season momentum Saturday afternoon, erupting for 10 runs in the first three innings to defeat Bentley, 10-4, and secure its third straight victory. After briefly trailing, the Fighting Knights answered with explosive offense, highlighted by Scout Simpson's three-run homer, and leaned on dominant pitching down the stretch to stay in control.

The win lifts Lynn to 4-3 on the year, pushing the Blue and White back over the .500 mark as they head into their first road series of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bentley struck first in the opening inning, stringing together a pair of baserunners before an RBI single plated the game's first run for a 1-0 lead

- Lynn closed out the scoring in the inning with a balk to go ahead 4-1
- Bentley countered in the second inning with a two-run double to trim the margin, but Lynn wasted no time responding

- Lynn added to the advantage in the third when Bryant Zayas advanced into scoring position and came home on Jason Lashley's RBI groundout to make it 10-3
- The Lynn pitching staff took control from there, retiring Bentley hitters efficiently while striking out key batters to halt any comeback momentum
- Bentley was held scoreless from the third through the seventh as Lynn's defense turned clean innings and limited baserunners
- The Falcons scratched across a run in the eighth on an RBI single, but the Fighting Knights escaped further damage with runners stranded
- Lynn closed the door in the ninth, working around a Bentley baserunner to secure the home victory
