BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team erupted for 11 runs on 12 hits Tuesday afternoon at Lynn Baseball Field, snapping a five-game losing streak with an 11-3 victory over Bentley. After falling behind early, the Fighting Knights used a five-run fourth inning to seize control and never looked back, completing the two-game season sweep of the Falcons behind a balanced offensive attack and a strong pitching performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bentley struck first, using a pair of Lynn fielding errors to tack on two runs in the first, 2-0
- Lynn answered back in the bottom of the inning with a triple by
Bryant Zayas who was later brought home by a sacrifice fly from
Scout Simpson, 2-1
- The Fighting Knights struck again, using a Falcon mishap on the basepaths to send
Jason Lashley home and knot the contest up at 2-2
- Freshman pitcher
Yandiel Reyes and the Lynn defense locked in, making key plays in the early innings including a laser-focused throw in the third from Zayas to avoid a triple and keep the game tied at 2-2
- The Falcons took back the lead in the top of the fourth with a double and a pair of sacrifice hits to go up by a run
- The Blue and White responded in the bottom of the frame with a leadoff double by
Joel Tapia-Melo and later an RBI base knock from
Kai Hutchins to tie the contest back up at 3-3

Bruce Thornton came up big with an RBI double past the first baseman to give Lynn a 4-3 advantage later in the inning
- The Fighting Knights continued to add on in the frame utilizing knocks from Zayas and Simpson to build a 7-3 cushion heading into the fifth

Jackson Tyer added another run in the fifth with an RBI single to boost the Blue and White lead to 8-3
- Tapia Melo knocked in another run with a two-out double to give Lynn a 9-3 advantage in the sixth

Justin Probst came off the bench in the eighth and delivered a hard-hit double to the left field gap to score another run for the Blue and White, 10-3

Willie Kimbler rattled off another RBI hit for the Fighting Knights to cap off the eighth, 11-3

Chase Wills and the Fighting Knights shut the door on the Falcons in the ninth with some high-level defense to secure the victory and get back in the win column, 11-3
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn exploded for 11 runs on 12 hits, scoring in five different innings and producing their highest run total of March so far
- The Fighting Knights flipped the game in the fourth inning with a five-run rally, turning a 3-2 deficit into a 7-3 advantage they never surrendered
