BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 14 Lynn University women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Saint Leo Lions on Sunday morning at the Perper Tennis Complex.
With the win, the Fighting Knights improve to 8-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn opened strong in doubles play as
Carla Galmiche and
Meadow Garcia secured a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles to put the Blue and White on the board
- Saint Leo responded with wins on courts two and three to claim the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead
- In singles, Galmiche delivered a clutch performance in the second flight, battling through three sets for a 7-5, 2-6, 7-5 victory to even the match
- Garcia followed with another three-set win at No. 3 singles, outlasting her opponent in a tight contest to give Lynn momentum, 6-1, 6-7 (0-10), 7-5

Hailey Lizano earned a key point at No. 4 singles, winning in straight sets with a second-set tiebreak to push Lynn closer to the clinch, 6-4, 7-6 (10-0)

Lea Cakarevic dominated in the fifth flight with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory to secure the fourth and decisive point for the Fighting Knights
