BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's tennis team put together a competitive effort across singles play but ultimately fell to No. 11 Saint Leo, 5-2, on Monday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex.
The Fighting Knights move to 8-6 overall on the 2026 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn secured the doubles point with strong performances on courts one and three
- At No. 1 doubles,
Louay Makke and
Davide Cortimiglia earned a 6-2 victory

Victor Alves and
Filip Avdeev matched that score at No. 3 to give the Blue and White the early 1-0 lead
- Makke carried that momentum into singles, delivering a composed straight-set win in the first flight, 6-3, 7-6, to put Lynn ahead 2-0
- Alves opened strong at No. 2 singles, taking the first set 7-6 before Saint Leo responded to claim the match in three sets: 7-6, 1-6, 1-6

Aymen Alimoussa fought through a tight battle at No. 4 singles, winning the opening set 7-6 and pushing the match to a deciding tiebreak before falling 6-7, 8-10

Davide Cortimiglia also showed resilience at No. 6 singles taking the first set 6-3 before dropping a close second set, 5-7, and the deciding third, 0-6
