MIRAMAR, Fla. - The Lynn Fighting Knights women's track & field team turned in a record-setting performance at the 2026 NSU Shark Invitational, highlighted by multiple program records and a collection of podium and top-five finishes. The Blue and White were led by a school-record performance in the 4x100 relay while adding strong showings across sprint, hurdle and distance events, capping the meet with a runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay against a competitive field of regional talent.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
4x100m Relay
- Lynn's 4x100m relay team of
Emma Smith,
Tamryn Betts,
Tessa Bray and
Alijah Giustino delivered a record-breaking performance, clocking a school-record time of 48.20 to finish second overall
- The Fighting Knights pushed Florida Memorial to the wire, finishing just 0.05 seconds off the winning pace in a tightly contested final
800m

Lindsey Byer paced the Fighting Knights in the 800m, finishing fourth overall with a time of 2:23.11, competing in the top finals heat

Mia Gagliardi delivered a strong performance, winning her section and placing ninth overall with a time of 2:24.46

Annabelle Daley added a top-10 finish, crossing in 2:24.90 (personal-best) to place 10th overall in the field
100m Hurdles

Abigail Brown led the Fighting Knights in the 100m hurdles, placing 10th overall with a time of 16.60 (personal-best) in a competitive multi-heat field

Kalei McPherson followed with a 14th-place finish, clocking in at 17.82

Laila Velasquez rounded out the Lynn group, finishing 19th overall with a time of 19.26 (personal-best)
100m
- Bray led the Fighting Knights in the 100m, winning her heat and placing ninth overall with a time of 12.60
- Betts followed closely, finishing 11th overall in 12.62 while competing in the top finals section
- Giustino added a solid effort with a 12.90 finish, placing 17th overall
400m

Angelina Howard led the Fighting Knights in the 400m, placing fourth overall with a time of 59.92 in the top finals section
- Giustino followed closely behind, finishing fifth overall in 1:00.07 to give Lynn two top-five performances
400m Hurdles

Mira Akan led the Fighting Knights with a standout performance, finishing second overall in 1:06.46 in the top finals section
- Brown added a strong effort, placing eighth overall with a time of 1:08.95 (personal-best)
200m
- Bray highlighted the Fighting Knights' performance with a third-place finish overall, clocking 25.20 in the top finals section for a new Lynn program record
- Betts followed with a strong showing, placing ninth overall in 26.21
- Howard added a 13th-place finish (26.93), while multiple Fighting Knights contributed across the heats
1500m
- Daley led the Fighting Knights in the 1500m, placing sixth overall with a time of 5:07.07 in the top finals section
- Byer followed with a strong effort, winning her section and finishing seventh overall (5:09.58)
- Gagliardi added depth for the Blue and White, crossing in 5:17.82 to place 12th overall
4x400 Relay
- Lynn's A relay team of Giustino, Bray, Smith and Betts delivered a strong performance, placing second overall with a time of 4:02.85
- The Fighting Knights' B team of Akan, Howard, Brown and Velasquez added depth with a fourth-place finish (4:10.95)
