BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's tennis team delivered a statement victory on Senior Day, upsetting No. 10 Embry-Riddle, 5-2, in Sunshine State Conference play.
Aymen Alimoussa clinched the match at No. 3 singles, while
Davide Cortimiglia added the finishing touch with a win in the final singles contest.
The three seniors honored were
Aymen Alimoussa,
Santino Morel, and
Davide Cortimiglia.
With the victory, the Fighting Knights improve to 10-7 overall and 3-3 in SSC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights
- Makke extended the lead with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 victory in singles play
- Alves added another point with a strong 6-1, 6-4 win in the second flight
- Alimoussa clinched the match at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory
- Cortimiglia capped off the day with a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 triumph in the sixth flight
