DAYTON BEACH, Fla. - Lynn softball battled to a split on the road Saturday, using a late-inning rally to secure a 3-1 victory in Game 1 before falling 5-4 in extra innings in Game 2 against Embry-Riddle. The Fighting Knights showcased resilience throughout the day, delivering timely hits in the opener behind a complete-game effort from
Kayley Zazzali, while mounting a comeback in the nightcap before a late defensive miscue allowed the Eagles to walk it off.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Embry-Riddle capitalized on early miscues in the first inning, scoring an unearned run on a pair of Lynn errors to take a 1-0 lead
- Lynn answered in the second, as
Aiyana Hicks reached on a bunt single, stole second, and came around to score on an RBI single from
Cara Willis to tie the game at 1-1
- The Eagles threatened in the second with the bases loaded, but the Fighting Knights worked out of the jam to keep the game even
- Both teams settled into a defensive battle through the middle innings, with neither side able to break through despite scattered baserunners
