VALDOSTA, Ga. - The No. 23 Lynn University men's tennis team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to No. 1 West Florida, 4-2, at the Valdosta State Tennis Complex. Despite a strong showing in doubles to claim the early point, the Fighting Knights were unable to hold off the top-ranked Argonauts in singles play.
The Blue and White finished the regular season 11-9 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn opened the match by securing the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3
- Victor Alves and Aymen Alimoussa delivered a dominant 6-2 win at in the second flight
- West Florida responded in singles, taking four of the five completed matches
- Louay Makke battled in the first set at No. 1 singles but fell, 7-5, 6-1
- Alves earned Lynn's lone singles point after his opponent retired following a first-set win
- The Argonauts picked up straight-set victories at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to clinch the match

The Fighting Knights will host the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Tournament and enter as the No. 5 seed, taking on No. 4 Florida Southern in the quarterfinals on April 30 at 1:00 p.m.
