Ruiz Topali earns second consecutive WGCA All-America honor

FRISCO, Tex. - Lynn University women's golfer Amelia Ruiz Topali has been named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American for the second consecutive season earning a spot on the second team, the organization announced Wednesday.

The honor caps another stellar campaign for Ruiz Topali, who established herself as one of the premier players in NCAA Division II while helping lead the Fighting Knights to a top-10 national ranking and an appearance in the NCAA South Regional.

A junior from Chile, Ruiz Topali finished the season ranked No. 15 nationally and No. 9 in the South Region while posting a team-best 73.0 adjusted scoring average across 32 rounds. She compiled an impressive 629-143-22 head-to-head record against the nation's top competition and recorded eight top-10 finishes during the 2025-26 season.

Ruiz Topali's consistency was on display throughout the year as she opened the season with a pair of top-10 finishes at the Eckerd Invitational and National Preview before adding another top-five showing at the Saint Leo Invitational. During the spring campaign, she continued her strong play with a ninth-place finish at the Lady Moc Classic, a fourth-place performance at The Buccaneer Invitational and a fifth-place finish at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational.

Her best tournament of the season came at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, where she fired a three-round score of 218 (+2) to finish runner-up among a field of 52 golfers. Ruiz Topali followed that performance with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional, helping Lynn remain among the region's top programs throughout the postseason.

Earlier this spring, Ruiz Topali earned First Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors for the second consecutive season after leading the Fighting Knights with a 72.9 adjusted scoring average. She played a key role in Lynn recording five top-three team finishes and maintaining a No. 6 national ranking for much of the season.

The WGCA All-America selection adds another prestigious accolade to Ruiz Topali's growing résumé and marks the second straight year she has been recognized among Division II's elite golfers. She was also named to the WGCA South All-Region Team, becoming one of just 13 players selected to the region squad.

The WGCA annually recognizes the nation's top women's collegiate golfers across all NCAA divisions and honors the most outstanding performers following the conclusion of the championship season.
