Bill Morosco was named the fourth head men’s basketball coach in Lynn University history in 2023, and in just one season, he delivered one of the most successful campaigns the program has ever seen.
In his debut season in 2024-25, Morosco led the Fighting Knights to a 21-9 overall record and a 14-6 mark in Sunshine State Conference play. Lynn made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018-19, advancing to the second round. The program set multiple single-season records, including:
- Scoring average: 88.3 points per game
- 3-point field goals made: 391
- Total rebounds: 1,241
- Rebounding average: 41.4 per game
- Scoring margin: +11.9
Morosco’s ability to quickly build competitive, high-energy teams has become his signature. Prior to arriving in Boca Raton, he compiled 100 career wins across three NJCAA head coaching stops, earning 20 or more victories in his first season at each.
Before Lynn, Morosco spent two seasons at Indian River State College (2021-23), where he guided the Pioneers to 49 wins and back-to-back NJCAA South Atlantic District Quarterfinal appearances. In 2022-23, Indian River won the Southern Conference Championship, and Morosco was named SC Coach of the Year. He notched his 100th career coaching win in February 2023.
In 2021-22, Morosco led Garden City Community College to a program-best 22-10 record, its highest-ever national ranking (No. 12), and a trip to the NJCAA Region IV Tournament semifinals. That team also produced the KJCCC Player of the Year and a First Team All-American.
His head coaching journey began at Independence Community College (2019-21), where he immediately transformed the program, winning 23 games in his first season — the school’s most in nearly a decade. Independence was ranked in the national top 20 during both seasons under his leadership.
Morosco is no stranger to the Sunshine State Conference, having served as an assistant coach at Barry University in 2018-19. That season, the Buccaneers won 18 games and were ranked as high as No. 12 nationally.
His coaching résumé also includes NCAA Division I experience as an assistant at Presbyterian College, The Citadel, and UC-Davis. During the 2014-15 season at UC-Davis, the Aggies captured the Big West Regular Season Championship and earned the program’s first postseason berth with a trip to the NIT Tournament.
A native of Florida, Morosco is a 2012 graduate of the University of Florida. He is known for his relentless energy, player development focus, and a commitment to building a culture that excels on the court and in the classroom.
Morosco resides in Boca Raton with his wife, Samantha, and their son, Billy.
