Nick DeAtley

Nick DeAtley enters his seventh season with the Lynn men’s basketball program in the 2024-25 season. DeAtley joined the Fighting Knights as a graduate assistant in 2018, a season in which Lynn finished with a 25-7 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
 
The following season in 2019-20, DeAtley was hired as an assistant coach before being promoted to head assistant prior to the 2021-22 season, making him the youngest head assistant in the Sunshine State Conference.
 
In his current role, DeAtley managed several facets of the program including scouting, game strategy/preparation, recruiting, player development, film, as well as monitoring the team’s academic success.
 
DeAtley has been instrumental in assisting with bringing in and developing some of the most talented players in the Sunshine State with four All-SSC selections and the 2022-23 SSC Freshman of the Year. The Fighting Knights had two Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List players, an NCAA Division II Statistical Champion for three-pointers and a D2CCA Second Team All-South Region Award winner.
 
The 2023-24 campaign was the best season for the Fighting Knights since 2018-19 with a 17-11 overall record, including an 11-9 mark in the SSC. Nordin Kapic and Tradavis Thompson earned All-SSC First Team and Second Team honors, respectively.
 
DeAtley, originally born in Bogota, Colombia, grew up in Washington, DC and is a graduate of South Lakes High School in Reston, Va. In 2018, he graduated from the College of William & Mary with a degree in American Studies, and earned his Masters in the Exceptional Student education program from Lynn.
 
He has a passion for volunteering with special needs students from diverse backgrounds through basketball. DeAtley comes from a basketball family. His father, Bruce, played at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, and his uncle, Mark, is a long-time, highly regarded college and high school basketball official in south Florida.
