Graduate (2013): Appeared in 17 games making 14 starts…recorded two goals, four assists and eight points on 20 shots…set career-highs in assists and points…was tied for second on the team in assists…made move from forward to defense in helping team to a Sunshine State Conference-best 0.98 goals against average and 0.50 GAA in league matches…contributed to six shutouts…earned an assist in the season-opening 4-1 victory versus Shorter (9/6)…scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes to defeat Tampa (10/12) 1-0…had an offensive outburst against Eckerd (10/12) where he scored once and added two assists in a 7-0 win…earned an assist in a 3-1 victory against Barry (10/22)… earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Graduate (2012): Appeared in 16 games making four starts…posted three goals, one assist and seven points on 28 shots with one game-winning goal…made first career appearance in a 2-0 victory at rival Barry (9/19)…scored his first career goal in helping the Fighting Knights to a 4-0 win versus Tampa (9/26)…assisted on the game-winning goal and later tallied an insurance score in the team’s 3-1 victory at Florida Tech (10/13)…scored the lone goal of 1-0 victory against Barry (10/24)…earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Prior to Lynn: Attended Macromedia University of Media and Communication and played for SV Vaihingen.

Personal: Born May 25, 1986…son of Wolfgang and Reny Merten-Gubisch…has one sibling, Philipp…studying for his Master’s in Business Administration…enjoys traveling, snowboarding, playing other sports and dabbling in audio and visual media in his spare time…lists the Whitsunday Islands in Australia and Koh Phi Phi in Thailand as his favorite vacation spots…would most like to visit Machu Picchu and Karibic in the future.
