Cassidy Pickett was promoted to the softball head coach on April 11, 2022. She had previously been named interim head softball coach on November 20, 2021. Originally, she was hired as Lynn’s assistant softball coach on January 4, 2021.
In her first season as head coach, Pickett led Lynn to a win improvement of 15 games, and she led the team to their first SSC series sweep in five seasons. During the team's sweep over Eckerd, Pickett coached Madison Prickett to a no-hitter.
The Lynn softball program continued to improve under Pickett in 2023, winning over 20 games (21) for the first time since 2018.
Pickett went on to win 12 games in 2024 before improving to 21 wins in 2025, including six shutout victories.
Prior to joining the Fighting Knights, she was the assistant softball coach at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky during the 2020 season.Â
The East Tennessee State University graduate had a standout softball career and was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team and the College Sport Madness All-SoCon Second Team. During that season, Pickett batted .322 with six homers and 25 RBI over 42 games while leading ETSU in walks (17) and on-base percentage (.407).Â
After graduating, Pickett opened and managed Upper Deck Sports, a hitting facility in Piney Flats, Tenn. Along with her duties in owning and operating Upper Deck Sports, Pickett served as the director of the Pride Softball Organization for four years
Pickett attended high school at Baylor Academy where she was a three-time state champion.
