Biography

Junior (2013-14): Competed in all 13 tournaments…named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association First Team All-American and WGCA Scholar All-American…selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team…second-ranked golfer in the nation…was second on the team with a 73.85 stroke average and 10 top-10 finishes, including two tournament victories…set school records for 36- and 54-hole scoring…became the program leader for lowest stroke average (75.36) and is second in career top-10 finishes (24)…broke the school record for 36-hole scoring with a five-under par 139 to take first place at the Guy Harvey Invitational (10/7-8)…finished in the top-five in seven consecutive tournaments…broke her own program record two weeks later at the Division II Preview/Rock Barn Invite (10/28-19) with a 138 (-4) while taking second place…earned her second tournament victory of the year, and third of her career, with a 54-hole program best even-par 216 at the Lady Moc Classic (2/17-18) while also garnering SSC Golfer of the Week accolades…finished runner-up in consecutive tournaments, the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational (3/3-4) and Bucknell Bison Invitational (3/10-11)… earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Sophomore (2012-13): Competed in all 11 tournaments…named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association Second Team All-America…earned WGCA Scholar All-America accolades for the second consecutive year…selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team…was a WGCA All-South Region pick…led the squad with the second-lowest stroke average in school history at 75.89 over 28 rounds and a program-best nine top-10 finishes, including one tournament victory…opened the season by tying for eighth with a 151 score at the NCAA DII Fall Preview (9/16-17)…finished the fall with a fifth place finish at the Saint Leo Invite, shooting a 148 over 36-holes…kicked-off the spring season by claiming her second career tournament victory, tying a 36-hole program record with a 142, while also helping her team to a tournament title at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate (2/2-3)…broke her own 54-hole record with a 223 at the Lady Moc Classic (2/25-26) where she tied for seventh…ended the season with five consecutive top-10 finishes…helped her team to victories at the SMSU Spring Invite (3/14-15) and Bash-at-the-Beach Invite (4/6-7) by tying for fifth and eighth…tied for eighth at the SSC Championship (4/15-16) with a three-day score of 228…led Lynn to a NCAA South Regional title (5/6-8) by tying for fourth with a 224 score…posted the third-lowest 72-hole score in program history, a 300, to tie for ninth and help LU to the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship (5/15-18)…earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Freshman (2011-12): Competed in all 11 tournaments… earned WGCA Scholar All-America accolades…earned Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference recognition…posted the second-lowest stroke average on the team and lowest among all newcomers with a 76.76 average while notching five top-10 finishes, the 10th-best single-season total in program history…in her first career tournament, tied for fourth with a 151 at the Lady Falcon Invite (9/24-25)…earned medalist honors with a 36-hole career-low 149 at the Fall Slam Invite (10/24-25)…tied for second at the Eagle Invite (3/18-19) after matching her season-best total of 149…garnered SSC All-Tournament recognition by finishing third with a 54-hole score of 233 at the conference tournament (4/16-17)…shot a 54-hole career-best 228, tying for 12th individually at the NCAA South Regional (5/7-8)…earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Prior to Lynn: Attended Santaluces High School and Palm Beach Virtual School…four-year letterwinner…was elected sophomore class president. 

Personal: Born September 18, 1993…daughter of Richard and Paula Smolen…sports management major…enjoys going to the beach, hanging out with family and friends and going to concerts and sporting events in her free time…loves Italian food.
