Biography

Junior (2017): Appeared and started in goal in 15 games…went 6-9 with a 1.58 goals against average, 85 saves, a .780 save percentage and three shutouts…ranked second in the SSC in saves for the second year in a row…finishes her career ranked third in program history in career saves with 208…tied for fifth in program history in saves in a season with 85…recorded a 7-0 shutout against Concordia (N.Y.) (9/3)…stopped seven shots in a 1-0 shutout against Newberry (9/10)…registered a career-high 12 saves in a 2-0 shutout at Rollins (9/27).

Sophomore (2016): Appeared and started in goal in all 16 games....went 3-11-2 with a 1.52 goals against average, 71 saves, a.740 save percentage and three shutouts...ranked second in the SSC in saves...her 71 saves are the eighth most in program history while the 123 in her career put her ninth…logged six games with at least six saves…stopped four shots in a season-opening shutout against Queens (N.C.) (9/2)…stopped three shots to collect her third shutout of the year, a 2-0 win at Webber International (10/11)…tied her career-high with 10 saves in a 1-1 tie against ranked Rollins (10/19)…earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

Freshman (2015): Appeared in 11 games, making seven starts in goal…became first true freshman since 2011 to start more than one game in net…went 3-7-1 with a 1.93 goals against average, 52 saves, a .722 save percentage and three shutouts…made her first career appearance at Columbus State (9/4), turning away five shots in a 2-0 loss…came away with a big victory in her first career start, stopping three shots in a 5-4 overtime upset of 12th-ranked Barry (9/23)…stopped four shots in a 5-0 victory against Webber International to record her first career shutout…earned shutouts in consecutive games with a 4-0 win against Eckerd (10/17) and 0-0 double-overtime draw at Florida Tech (10/20)…despite allowing two goals against Embry-Riddle, turned away a career-best 10 shots…stopped nine shots in the team’s season finale 1-0 loss at Rollins (10/28)…earned SSC Commissioner Honor Roll recognition for earning a 3.2 grade point average or better.

High School: Attended Coral Springs Charter School…four year starter and two-time captain…garnered All-County honorable mention as a senior and was selected for the 2015 All-Star game…played for Team Boca.

Personal: Born August 27, 1997…daughter of Mary and Craig Downie…has one sibling; Caitlin…Psychology major…enjoys playing beach volleyball in her free time.
