BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's women's soccer team played 110 minutes without scoring or allowing a goal in a 0-0 tie with Flagler on Wednesday evening. The Fighting Knights kept their unbeaten streak alive by moving to 3-0-1 and have now held their opponents scoreless over the last 253 minutes.
Outshot 18-16 overall, LU appeared to get strong as the game went on, logging five shots to the Saints two in extra time. Lauren Vernon topped all Knights with seven attempts, four of which made its way to goal. Lindsay Zullo had a team-high five shots for Flagler (2-2-1).
Missed chances by Lynn kept this game going though as six times the Blue &White got behind the Flagler defense but failed to get a shot by keeper Cristina Coca. The defensive unit of co-captain Rio Hanlan, Alison Ramsey, Paige Meggison and Scout Stowe did an excellent job ofkeeping the Saints out of the box by allowing just one of their nine shots from inside 18-yards.
