Clearwater, Fla. – Lynn University's softball team was swept in the first day of the Eckerd College Spring Invitational Friday night.  The Fighting Knights dropped the first game to Eckerd 5-0 and then 15-0 to West Florida.  LU is now 3-10 overall and 0-3 in the SSC this season.

The Blue & White outhit Eckerd 6-5 but three Lynn errors gave Eckerd the victory in the opener.  Callie Darlin allowed just one earned run on five hits but The Fighting Knights were unable to plate a runner.  CarisaCook led LU with a pair of base hits and Mandi Brown delivered with a triple on the day.  Darlin, Kasey Murray and Megan Mayfield also had base knocks for Lynn.

West Florida scored in each inning to run-rule the Knights in the second game as the Fighting Knights connected for five base hits on the game.  Marianne Johnson received the loss as she went all five innings in the circle.
