St. Augustine, Fla. - Brittany Gross collected four hits in the doubleheader but it was not enough as Lynn University's softball team dropped a pair of games to Flagler College Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field.  The Fighting Knights lost the first game 9-1 before falling 9-2 in the second and are now 7-31 on the season.

With two hits in the first game, Gross became just the second player in Lynn history to record 200 base hits.  She added two more in the second and is now just 14 hits away from tying Meghan Osborne's record of 216.

Anne Marie Van Casteren was the only other Knight with two hits in the twinbill while Katrina Lavadan drove in a pair of runs.

Lynn had several scoring chances in the first game but left 11 runners stranded including the bases loaded in the second and sixth.  Marianne Johnson pitched 5.2 innings for the complete game allowing nine runs on ten hits.

Callie Darlin received the loss in game two allowing nine runs in six innings of work.

LU is back in action this weekend when they host Florida Tech for a three-game Sunshine State Conference series.  Friday's single game will be played at 2:30 pm while Saturday's doubleheader starts at 10 am.  Fans can follow the action of all three games by logging onto www.LynnFightingKnights.com.
