BOCA RATON, Fla.—Lynn University's men's tennis recorded an 8-1 win over the Eckerd College Tritons on Saturday in Sunshine State Conference play.
Lynn (6-0, 3-0 SSC) only lost a combined three games in doubles and only dropped a total of four games in the five singles victories.
Lynn's No. 4 team of Vlad Cirla and Amaury Van Haelen composed an 8-1 win over Eckerd's top team of Stephen Felman and Dylan Randazzo. At number two doubles, Max Kouyate and George Laffey defeated Connor Ohlsen and Ben Levy 8-2 while Ben Kendall and Alessio Iannozzi did not fall in one game, taking an 8-0 win against Madison Durley and Robby Breece.
Leading the charge for the Knights in singles was No. 12 Cirla at the top singles flight with a pair of 6-1 sets in a win against Randazzo. Van Haelen received the second singles position and took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Brian Hill.
At number four singles, Iannozzi also collected a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Ohlsen and Kendall blanked Felman 6-0, 6-0 in the third singles flight.
Two Fighting Knights received their first appearance in singles action this season in today's match in the form of Laffey and Evan Valdes. Laffey posted a 6-0, 6-0 win against Levy as Valdes suffered a 6-3, 6-0 loss in the sixth singles flight to Jesus Silva.
