BOCA RATON, Fla.—On an overcast and windy day at the Perper Tennis Complex, Lynn University's top-ranked women's tennis team pulled out a 6-3 win over the Valdosta St. University Blazers on Sunday in regional action.
Lynn (7-0) tallied wins in two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches.
The No. 5 team of Ioana Ivan and Sabine Krause easily handled Valdosta's top team of Michelle Fischer and Juliana Boehm with an 8-1 win. Ivan and Krause move to 7-0 on the year as a doubles tandem.
Andrea Berkova and Roxane Alexandru finished just after Ivan and Krause and posted an 8-2 win at number three doubles versus Maja Ehses and Tina Trautmann.
Kim Przeszlowski and Ana Kriz suffered their first loss of the season in an 8-5 match against Sara Braun and Alina Nagel at number two doubles.
Ivan and Krause continued their stellar play on the singles courts by finishing first and second. Ivan rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Fischer while Krause finished play shortly after Ivan with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Boehm. Ivan remains a perfect 7-0 on the year while Krause moves to 6-1.
Berkova defeated Braun in the second singles flight 6-4, 6-3 while Kriz amassed a 6-3, 6-0 rout of Ehses at number four singles. Both Berkova and Kriz are 7-0 in singles action this season.
Przeszlowski took a 6-2 first-set win against Nagel but was forced to retire after suffering an injury. In the second set, Przeszlowski was down 5-4 before the match was called.
Aleks Vukadinovic fell to Trautmann 6-4, 6-3 in the sixth singles flight and was the last Fighting Knight to complete paly.
