BOCA RATON, Fla.—Less than 24 hours after falling to rival No. 2 Barry, Lynn University's No. 3 women's tennis team took to the road and delivered a 9-0 blanking of Tampa in Sunshine State Conference action on Sunday.
In doubles play, Lynn (12-3, 5-1 SSC) made quick work of Tampa at number two and three doubles but found resistance in the top doubles flight.
Roxane Alexandru and Ana Kriz teamed up at number two doubles to defeat Leslie Raymond and Megan Mancini 8-2 while Andrea Berkova and Kim Przeszlowski rolled through the Spartan duo of Thashia Garcia and Briana Ryan 8-3.
In the top doubles flight, No. 4 Ioana Ivan and Sabine Krause found the match tied at eight in headed into the tie breaker. In the tie breaker, Lynn's top team collected the win with a 7-1 tie break score.
On the singles side, the Fighting Knights posted seven 6-0 set wins and never surrendered more than two points in any set to the Spartans.
At singles number one, No. 5 Ivan tallied a pair of 6-0 set wins over Garcia while No. 44 Krause rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Meg Wladimirski at singles number two.
In the third singles flight, Przeszlowski went 6-1, 6-0 over Lauren Hewett and No. 42 Berkova, as Lynn's fourth singles player, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Mancini.
Kriz took on Janelle Morgan and won 6-0, 6-0 in number five singles as Alexandru collected her first singles win of the season with a 6-2, 6-1 throttling of Chloe Pereira.
