TAMPA, Fla. – Lynn University's men's soccer team defeated the University of Tampa at Pepin Stadium Saturday night for their second win of Sunshine State Conference play. Simon Gubisch scored the game-winning goal late in the second half to lift the Fighting Knights to a 1-0 victory.

The Blue & White (5-4-1) and (2-1) in Sunshine State Conference controlled the ball for the majority of the game holding the Spartans to three shots while the LU had sixteen attempts.

The Fighting Knight were solid in the defense but could not finish. It wasn't until the 81st minute of play when Gubisch netted his first goal of the season. A cross from Yannick Braeuer left Gubisch with an open look to put the finishing touches on the match.

Chris Hellman lead the attack for the Blue and White with five shots with help from Chris Klarner and Anthony Desperito each with two attempts.

The LU held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks and challenged the University of Tampa keeper David Niepel to make four saves while Kevin Shields captured two.
