BOCA RATON, Fla.-Lynn University's women's tennis team won it's first match of the 2013 season at the Perper Tennis Complex on Tuesday night. The 9-0 victory was led by the dynamic duo of Valentine Confalonieri and Ioana Ivan. The No. 3  best doubles team in the country blanked St. Thomas' top pair 8-0. Confalonieri, ranked No. 10 in singles, also defeated Tetiani Kovalska in sets of 6-4 and 6-2 while Ivan (No. 15) beat Monica Rekkedal 6-2, 6-0. 

No. 7 duo Andrea Berkova and Kim Przeszlowski teamed up to take a 8-1 victory over Ashley Ahern and Lauren Lightfoot. Newcomer Alina Jane and Ana Kriz also got their first win with a 8-1 victory. 

Przeszlowski faced Ahern in singles and won 6-2, 6-0. While both Jane and Kriz swept 6-0 in both sets of their singles matches. 

Lynn, who lost in the national Quarterfinals last season are the preseason favorites for the South Region as well as holding the fourth spot in the nation. LU takes the court February 10 at Eckerd.
