Valdosta, Ga.- Lynn University's men's tennis team was handed its first loss of the season by No. 2 West Florida, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon. Vlad Cirla and Willi Wolfer, the fourth ranked doubles team in the nation, gave LU its only doubles victory of the day with at 8-6 win over Bruno Savi and Kevin Ducros. Max Kouyate and Pavel Mojha lost, 8-3, while Alessio Iannozzi and Simon Gloeckner were defeated, 8-1, in the third spot.
Down 2-1 after doubles, No. 4 Wolfer retired in the first set to No. 13 Drucos, for West Florida to take a 3-1 lead. No. 17 Cirla's 6-4, 6-2 loss to No. 5 Savi would give West Florida another point. A 6-3, 6-1 win from Kouyate would score the Blue and White's second point. Mojha and Ioannozzi both went into third sets, with No. 28 Iannozzi taking the loss while Mojha won 10-3 in the final set. Simon Gloeckner would also pick up a singles win against Guilherme Canineo.
