Valdosta, Ga.- Lynn University's men's tennis defeated No. 24 Valdosta State, 7-2, to stay unbeaten in the 2013 season. The Fighting Knights, ranked third by the ITA, took a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
Pavel Mojha and Max Kouyate were handed their first loss of the season sets of 9-8 and 7-3. LU bounced back with two 8-4 victories from Alessio Iannozzi and Simon Gloeckner as well as the Vlad Cirla and Giulio Gomba duo.
Cirla was the only singles loss for the Blue and White after dropping in the number one spot in sets of 6-2 and 6-1. Kouyate and Iannozzi both were forced into third sets but their power and longevity helped the Knights win two more points. Mojha won 6-4 and 6-3 for Lynn to secure the victory while Gloeckner and Gomba both added 6-0, 6-1 victories.
