No. 1 Pirates Set Sail in High Winds over No. 8 Women's Tennis

Boca Raton, Fla.- Lynn University's women's tennis team was blanked by the top team in Division II, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon. Armstrong Atlantic came out hungry after losing earlier in the week to fellow Sunshine State Conference foes Barry University. The Fighting Knights now stand at 11-2 on the season while the Pirates advance to 15-1.

With a 3-0 lead after doubles play, Armstrong continued their success on the court in singles play. Five of the Pirates six starters are ranked nationally, with No. 2 Barbora Krtickova leading the way. A pair of losses, 6-1 and 6-1, from Kim Przeszlowski gave No. 14 Marlen Hacke the fourth point for Armstrong. After being blanked 6-0 in set one at the doubles spot, Alina Jane dropped set two, 6-1, for AASU to hold on to the win.

The Blue and White will host SSC rivals Florida Tech on Friday, March 29. First serve is slated for 2 pm. Fans can follow the action at www.LynnFightingKnights.com. Don't forget to 'Like' us on Facebook and follow @LUKnights on Twitter and Instagram.
