Boca Raton, Fla.- Lynn University's softball team fell into unfortunate circumstances on Monday afternoon when the rescheduled Sunshine State Conference finale between the Fighting Knights and the Buccaneers ended after six innings due to weather. Barry took the series 2-1 with the 1-0 victory.
Lynn extended Barry's scoreless streak through the first four innings before the Bucs scored on a RBI-double by Kelly Martinez. The unearned run was the only scored between both teams in the six and a third inning game.
LU was out-hit by Barry while Alexis Yohe struck out six Knights in the victory. Kasey Murray (10-14) struck out two in the loss while allowing one unearned run on five hits. Murray also recorded the only hit for the Knights.
Lynn falls to 19-25, 5-13 in the Sunshine State Conference and will face Saint Leo April 19-20 in a three-game series in Boca Raton, Fla. Fans can log on to www.LynnFightingKnights.com for Lynn softball updates.
