No. 8 Women's Tennis Extends Streak with Win over Eagles

Daytona Beach, Fla.- The eighth ranked Lynn University women's tennis team (14-2) defeated NAIA No. 8 Embry Riddle, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon for its third consecutive win. No. 4 Valentine Confalonieri improved to 12-1 in singles play this season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Hui-I Huang in the top spot. Confalonieri teamed with Ioana Ivan for an 8-6 doubles win. The duo forms the third best doubles team in Division II.

Ivan, ranked 13 in the nation, also added a singles win for the Blue and White with scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Alina Jane finalized the LU win with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Embry Riddle's Giovanna Tomiotto. Jane teamed with Kim Przeszlowski to beat Tomiotto and Paola Montero 8-6 in doubles for the Knights to lead 2-1 after doubles. 

LU will travel to Miami Shores, Fla. for the final match of the regular season on Wednesday, April 10. The match, originally scheduled for April 3 but was postponed due to rain, is set to start at 3 pm. Fans can log on to www.LynnFightingKnights.com for tennis updates.
