Women's Soccer Downed at Nova Southeastern

Box Score

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – Lynn University's women's soccer team was taken down by Nova Southeastern 5-1 on Thursday evening at the NSU Soccer Field.  Linzi Martin was able to put the Fighting Knights on the board with the only goal scored in the match, dropping their overall record to 1-2-0.

The Blue and White struggled to string passes together and the Sharks were able to find a gap in the defense quickly when Malin Broberg scored 7:51 into the match to give NSU the early lead.

The Sharks controlled the possession and outshot LU 17-11 overall but the Blue & White held a whopping 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Trailing 4-0 midway through the opening half, Lynn attempted to make a comeback.  Lina Forsman found the head of Linzi Martin in the 28th minute to cut the deficit.  Nova Southeastern, though, capitalized on a failed clearance late in the match to claim the 5-1 victory.

The Fighting Knights will be back in action on Saturday, September 21, at 1 p.m. when they host Florida Southern.  Fans can catch the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com.  Don't forget to 'Like' us on Facebook and follow @LUKnights on Twitter, Instagram and Vine.
