BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn University's sixth-ranked women's tennis team earned another Sunshine State Conference win with a dominating 9-0 performance against Eckerd. With the victory the Fighting Knights improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the competitive SSC.
Doubles play was one-sided as Lynn only lost 3 games in the three combined matches. The top two duos both easily won their matches 8-0 as fifth-ranked Vale Confalonieri and Ioana Ivan defeated Gipson Hawn and Erika Fridrik in the top slot. Seconds later Andrea Berkova and Rosalie Willig won by the same score over Carson Trapp and Katie Benn in the second slot. The final game ended 8-3 as Alina Jane and Kim Przeszlowski prevailed over Amy Naula and Emily Fridrik.
Ivan cruised in the third single's spot, completing a perfect sweep 6-0, 6-0 over Erika Fridrik. Lynn clinched the victory after Wilig defeated Trapp 6-0, 6-1 in the two spot. The top half of singles play ended with No. 1 ranked Confalonieri defeating Hawn 6-1, 6-2.
The bottom half of singles play turned into first to eight pro-style scoring, allowing Przeszlowski and Jane to win both of their matches 8-1 over Katie Benn and Emily Fridrik in the fourth and fifth spots. The match concluded with Aleks Vukadinovic sweeping Naula 8-0.
