Melbourne, Fla. – Lynn University's women's soccer team conceded only one goal off a penalty kick in the first half, but that was the difference in a 1-0 loss to Florida Tech on Saturday night.  This is the fifth game decided by a goal for the Fighting Knights this year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lynn went after Florida Tech aggressively in the opening minutes and the aggressive strategy paid off with a corner kick and shot attempt from Claudia Kraut.
• A tough foul from the Fighting Knights defense went the wrong way as a Panther was tripped up inside the penalty box.  Keira McCarthy knocked down the attempt to give Florida Tech a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute.
• The Blue & White continued their aggressive play in the second half, recording seven corner kicks and attempting seven shots but could not penetrate the Panther's defense.

STATS OF THE GAME:

• Lynn tied Florida Tech in total shots 9-9 and had a healthy 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
• Downie made seven saves while Karlyn Prisco turned two shots away.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• This is Lynn's fifth game this season decided by a goal or less.  The squad is 1-4-0 in those matches.
