St. Petersburg, Fla. - Lynn University's women's soccer team led the game statistically but a pair of second-half goals gave Eckerd a 2-0 victory on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Fighting Knights had several shots on target in the opening half, with Ida Langer getting a good look in the 22nd minute.
• Eckerd turned a possible Lynn scoring attempt into the first goal of the night in the 63rd minute.  Caroline Duerr attempted a shot at 61:50 and off the save, Olivia Ross-Johnson collected a quick outlet from the keeper, beat a defender and finished her attempt to the left post.
• Lynn desperately attempted to even the match up, pushing hard on the offensive end late in the match but a missed shot in the 87th minute allowed the Tritons to quickly setup on the goal kick.  Eckerd raced down the sideline and a cross attempt was buried by Ross-Johnson to put the Tritons ahead 2-0.

STATS OF THE GAME:

• Lynn outshot Eckerd 19-5 and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
• Alex Downie turned away one shot while Casey Winn logged seven saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• All three of Lynn's victories have come via shutout while five of the squad's seven losses have been by clean sheets.
