HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Florida Tech held a significant advantage in play through the first half of play, outshooting the Blue & White 14-2 and grabbing a lead in the 30th minute off a goal from Maria Munoz.
- Lynn's offense stepped up its play in the second half and was close on several chances, including a header off a corner kick and two-on-one shot attempt from Caroline Duerr, which were both saved.
- Duerr did not miss on her third attempt as she collected a pass at the top of the box, evaded a defender and ripped a shot into the right side-netting to knot the game 1-1 in the 87th minute.
- Unfortunately, a defensive breakdown less than two minutes later allowed Munoz to separate herself from the back line and the Panther forward buried her one-on-one attempt to give Florida Tech the 2-1 lead.
STATS OF THE GAME:
- Lynn was outshot 23-8 overall with the Panthers gaining a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- Alexa Downie turned away six shots with her defense making save. Conversely, Karly Prisco did not record a save but her defense did keep one shot off the goal line.
