BOCA RATON, Fla. – After winning the opening doubles match, the sixth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team fought from behind the rest of the way on Monday evening until Auburn University of Montgomery closed out the Fighting Knights, 5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn clinched the first doubles point in the match, but the Warhawks responded with the remaining two as the home squad fell behind.
- Daniel Riggs and Jean-Baptiste Mateo, playing together for the first time this season, outlasted NAIA's 22nd-ranked duo of Luis Viva and Franciso Mendieta at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.
- AUM took the third doubles flight, 8-5 before building a 2-1 lead over Lynn with an 8-6 triumph at No. 1.
- After the Warhawks secured the first singles point of the match at the No. 2 position, Riggs and Mateo posted wins at No. 1 & 3 to knot up the score, 3-3.
- Riggs defeated 39th-ranked Mendieta at the top spot, 6-3, 6-4 and Mateo won at No. 3 in a two-set marathon, 6-3, 7-5.
- After a short delay due to the lights timing out, AUM quickly capped the win with consecutive straight-set victories at the fourth and fifth flights.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- It marked the first Warhawks win over the Fighting Knights in the last five tries (2011).
