Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's women's soccer team dropped a close 1-0 contest to Palm Beach Atlantic in its Sunshine State Conference opener on Wednesday night. The Fighting Knights led the Sailfish statistically but an own goal early in the second half proved the difference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Defense dominated the first 45 minutes with the two squads combining for four shots and three saves.
- The Fighting Knights held the pace at the start of the second half but a defensive breakdown allowed the Sailfish to counter along the right sideline. The ensuing cross went into the six-yard box and was deflected by a Lynn defender to prove the difference.
- Just a minute later Jordyn Turner ripped a shot from the top of the box but Isabelle Granlund made a leaping save to knock the ball off the crossbar. Morgan Meltzer headed the rebound into the net but was whistled for offsides, negating the equalizer.
- Lynn had some opportunities on the Sailfish net but could not capitalize late.
STATS OF THE GAME:
- Lynn outshot PBA 11-7 and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- Alexa Downie made three saves compared to Granlund's four.
