HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a back-and-forth defensive showcase the first 45 minutes with the two squads combining for seven shots and two saves.
- Donish Cole put Lynn on the board 1-0 with her 4th goal of the season from deep right, bouncing the shot off the left goal post and into the net.
- The Fighting Knights dominated the pace of play and had momentum to start the half. However, communication breakdowns allowed the Lions to even things up with a shot inside the box by Saint Leo's Natalie Melillo.
- The rest of play was a fast-paced, physical match-up resulting in a draw at the end of regulation. Less than three minutes into extra time, Katie Waddell threw in a ball to Genevieve Gignac for the winning bycicle kick off the outside post to give the Lions the 2-1 victory.
- The Blue and White missed on its first opportunity to take the lead, and end the match in extra time, on a shot off the top crossbar by Donish Cole.
